Tips for Auditory Learners
- Books-on-tape or reading outloud
- Tape-record lectures to supplement notes
- Listen for verbal clues that suggest something is important and to remember or record in notes
- Use a note-taker
- Review information out loud - recite what you want to learn in your own words
- Add rhythm or tunes to things you want to memorize
- Use a "voice-proofing" program on your computer that reads your work back to you so you can make corrections based on how it sounds
- Use reader when taking a test so you can listen to the questions
- Use a scribe (with a computer) to dictate your answers to if you have difficulty with writing. Monitor the work on the screen to provide needed feedback
